This
is a cavity of short development. It was known since
several years because of the presence of materials from
the upper Palaeolithic inside. In 1995, some evidences of
parietal decoration were localized and next year , a team
from the Historic Science Department of the University
of Cantabria
composed by C. González Sainz, R. Cacho Toca, E. Muñoz
Fernández and R. Montes Barquín began the work to
document the parietal art, and the study of the materials
that were picked up from the surface. During the first campaing, they realized the
representations inventory, in which there are a line
formed of red dots, a one possible quadrangular and
remainings of a figure of that could represent a
quadruped, made in red linear trace of outline. The bad
conservation of the group difficults the identification
of the figures, so the initial inventory suffered
modifications when the final research was done. It is
worth to attract attention about the presence of a panel
2 meters wide and 1 meter long, where multitude engraved
lines in unique simple trace, simple repited and grooved
get mixed, they could probably belong to several figures
of animals.
These preliminary pieces of information
obtained during the first campaign will be completed
during the second one, which will be finished in 1997 and
will consist, basically, of the detailed documentation
and analysis of each figure, focusing specially on the
identification of possible figues of animals in the
engravings panel.
