Information about the Educational Innovation Project that has lead to LaViMM


The Virtual Laboratory of Mechanisms and Machines (LaViMM) is an educational innovation of the Mechanical Engineering Group  during the II Call for Educational Innovation Projects from University of Cantabria.

The Mechanism Laboratory that is held on the Faculty of Industrial and Telecomunication Engineering and has a set of miniatures of the most commonly mechanisms that can be found in machines. This Project has allow to create virtual cards with practical information about the miniatures in Spanish and English, in order to let the free access to this information to whoever interested on this topic.


People from the Mechanical Engineering Group of the University of Cantabria that have developed this Educational Innovation Project:

Also, Marta López Alvarado, Mechanical Engineering student, got a grant from this Project, and worked on the manteniance of the miniatures and creation of virtual content.

Moreover, other administrative units from University of Cantabria have collaborated in the creation of LaViMM:

  • CeFoNT and Unidad de Apoyo a la Docencia: managment and updating the virtual content.
  • COIE: hiring of the grant holder.
