Congress: ICOM 2020

Several members of the Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Department participated in the International Congress on Membranes & Membrane Processes 2020, celebrated virtually on December 7-11, 2020.

Ane Urtiaga chaired the session “Environmental Remediation”. Futhermore, she delivered the talk “NF/RO as key technology in the remediation of groundwater impacted by PFAS” and presented a poster entitled “PCL/graphene hollow fiber membranes as a novel scaffold for co-cultures of endothelial cells and astrocytes in biomedical research”. Marcos Fallanza delivered the keynote entitled “High performance composite hollow fibers for butanol recovery by pervaporation, and chaired two sessions: i) “Electro-membrane processes” and ii) “Pervaporation and membrane distillation”. Lucía Gómez delivered the talk “Predicting the influence of divalent ions on energy harvesting by reverse electrodialysis”, while Gabriel Zarca presented a poster entitled “Membrane separation of low global warming potential refrigerants using composite polymer ionic liquid membranes”.
