Doctorate Seminars 2019

The Chemical, Energy and Process Engineering Doctorate program organized the annual Doctorate seminars. The aim of the seminar is to promote the training of PhD students and disseminate their research activities. The seminar, open to the members of the doctorate program and to general public, included the assessment of the doctorate students’ progress by the academic panel of supervisors. The event took place last July 18th, 2019 in the room 3 of the ETSIIT, and in this edition 6 students of different doctorate years presented their works.

The presented works were:

Juan Corredor – New developments in photocatalysis for environmental application

Sophie Schröder – Environmental assessment of advanced oxidation technologies

Cristina González – Design of extracorporeal detoxification stages by advanced simulation techniques

Daniel Hoehn – Food production strategies for the mitigation of climate change: Towards a cirular food economy

Bohdana Markiv – Environmental exposure to particulate matter-bound manganese and other metals: bioaccessibility AND biomonitoring

Rafael Ortiz – Upgrading of industrial waste hydrogen in internal combustion engines

Juan Corredor, Sophie Schröder, Bohdana Markiv, Cristina González, Daniel Hoehn and Rafael Ortiz

Dissemination of HYLANTIC Project

Rafael Ortiz was invited to the “Decarbonising Ireland with Zero-Carbon Technologies” event on 16th July, 2019, organised by the National University of Ireland (NUI) in Galway, for an oral dissemination of the project HYLANTIC results aimed to stakeholders in Ireland and Northern Ireland for discussing the deployment of hydrogen technologies in rural and peripheral regions with speakers from Ireland, Scotland, Netherlands, Iceland and Norway.
