LQLM III

The third phase of the monitoring programme with the 2 m Liverpool Robotic Telescope (LRT) began in 2010 October. This LQLM III project is being carried out with most of  the available optical instruments: the RATCam and IO:O cameras, the FRODOspec spectrometer and the RINGO polarimeter, so it represents a final qualitative leap in our observational programme with the LRT. In addition, new observations with the world's largest ground-based telescopes and space-based facilities are used to complement the LQLM database. Here below we include a "News section" on some double quasars that are key monitoring targets. The figures show data for the two quasar images, A (red) and B (blue), and reference stars (black/green)

LRT (RATCam) - USNO catched a long-timescale extrinsic fluctuation in SBS 0909+532 (UC-USNA microlensing collaboration)

Spectra of Q0957+561 are taken weekly with FRODOspec: the emission line close to 4500 Å in the observer's frame corresponds to CIII, while the other prominent line in the 6500-7000 Å interval represents the MgII emission
