Professor and researcher in Urban and Spatial Planning at the School of Civil Engineering of the University of Cantabria since 1998. Her academic training period at the University of Cantabria was supplemented at the Institute of Urban and Regional Development, College of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley, where she was Research Associate in the period 1994-95. Since 2005 she manages the GEURBAN research group. Her research activities are related to the urban and regional planning fields, conducting research projects and producing research papers for international scientific journals and conferences, focused mainly on the impact of major infrastructures and territorial structures in land-use changes. She is currently referee of several international scientific journals.
Referring management activities, she is a high-experienced manager thanks to her position as Vice-Director of the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Cantabria between 2001 and 2007. During this period she has represented this institution in international exchange programs and projects, and she has promoted partnerships with the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées of Paris and Cornell University (U.S.). Today is representative of the University in the Urban Planning and Regional Development Technical Committee of Cantabria (CROTU).

Assistant Professor of Urban and Spatial Planning and research fellow of GEURBAN since 2008. Her main research activities are related to the participation on national and regional projects, and the elaboration of international peer-reviewed journal and conference papers focused on the impact of transportation plans and policies in spatial planning, the calculation of indicators using Gegraphic Information Systems, sustainable mobility patterns, and more recently on the impact and planning of Autonomous Vehicles in the city.

Professor of Urban and Spatial Planning at the School of Civil Engineering since 1985, he has combined his teching and researching vocation at the University with his work in the private sector as Head Office of Vallehermoso in Northern Spain (1991-2006). He was the General Director of Urban Planning of the Regional Government of Cantabria for the period 2007-2011. Today is representative of the University in the Urban Planning and Regional Development Technical Committee of Cantabria (CROTU).

Associate Professor in the Department of Geographic Engineering and Graphic Expression at the School of Civil Engineering. From 2009 to 2016 she was Director of the Department for Strategic Planning of the University of Cantabria. Within her functions, she was highly involved in the achievement and management of the Cantabria International Campus.
